API

Two endpoints. Sixty seconds.

The API accepts JSON or plain UTF-8 text, returns exact plain text, and does not require an account.

Create a bin

POST /api/bins

curl --fail-with-body \
  -H 'Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8' \
--data-binary 'hello from the terminal' \
  https://b1n.xyz/api/bins
{"code":"4827","expires_at":"2026-07-26T12:34:56.900Z","server_time":"2026-07-26T12:33:56.905Z"}

JSON is also supported:

curl --fail-with-body \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary '{"content":"hello"}' \
  https://b1n.xyz/api/bins

Retrieve a bin

GET /api/bins/4827

curl --fail-with-body https://b1n.xyz/api/bins/4827

Retrieval returns text/plain; charset=utf-8. The X-B1n-Expires-At response header contains the original expiry, and X-B1n-Server-Time provides a precise response-time reference. Both use UTC RFC 3339 timestamps.

Limits

  • 10,000 Unicode code points per bin.
  • 128 KiB maximum encoded request body.
  • Initial burst of 20 create/retrieve attempts per IP, then one token every 15 seconds.
  • No cross-origin browser access; command-line clients without an Origin header work.
